Abijah King of Judah
1. Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

4. Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
4. Mais à cause de David, l`Éternel, son Dieu, lui donna une lampe à Jérusalem, en établissant son fils après lui et en laissant subsister Jérusalem.

5. Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
5. Car David avait fait ce qui est droit aux yeux de l`Éternel, et il ne s`était détourné d`aucun de ses commandements pendant toute sa vie, excepté dans l`affaire d`Urie, le Héthien.

6. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
6. Il y eut guerre entre Roboam et Jéroboam, tant que vécut Roboam.

7. Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
7. Le reste des actions d`Abijam, et tout ce qu`il a fait, cela n`est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? Il y eut guerre entre Abijam et Jéroboam.

8. And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
8. Abijam se coucha avec ses pères, et on l`enterra dans la ville de David. Et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place.

Asa King of Judah
9. And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
9. La vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d`Israël, Asa régna sur Juda.

10. And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11. And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

12. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
12. Il ôta du pays les prostitués, et il fit disparaître toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient faites.

13. And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

14. But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

15. And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
15. Il mit dans la maison de l`Éternel les choses consacrées par son père et par lui-même, de l`argent, de l`or et des vases.

16. And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
16. Il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baescha, roi d`Israël, pendant toute leur vie.
16. Ary nisy ady tamin' asa sy basa, mpanjakan' ny Isiraely, tamin' ny androny rehetra.
17. And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
17. "Baescha, roi d`Israël, monta contre Juda; et il bâtit Rama, pour empêcher ceux d`Asa, roi de Juda, de sortir et d`entrer."

18. Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

Asa prit tout l`argent et tout l`or qui étaient restés dans les trésors de la maison de l`Éternel et les trésors de la maison du roi, et il les mit entre les mains de ses serviteurs qu`il envoya vers Ben Hadad, fils de Thabrimmon, fils de Hezjon, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas. Le roi Asa lui fit dire:
18. 19. There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
19. Qu`il y ait une alliance entre moi et toi, comme il y en eut une entre mon père et ton père. Voici, je t`envoie un présent en argent et en or. Va, romps ton alliance avec Baescha, roi d`Israël, afin qu`il s`éloigne de moi.
19. "Misy fanekena amiko sy aminao, ary tamin' ny raiko sy ny rainao; indro mandefa volafotsy sy volamena fanomezana ho anao aho; andeha, tsoahy ny fanekenao tamin' i Basa, mpanjakan' ny Isiraely, mba hialany amiko."
20. So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
20. "Ben Hadad écouta le roi Asa; il envoya les chefs de son armée contre les villes d`Israël, et il battit Ijjon, Dan, Abel Beth Maaca, tout Kinneroth, et tout le pays de Nephthali."

21. And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
21. Lorsque Baescha l`apprit, il cessa de bâtir Rama, et il resta à Thirtsa.
21. Ary izao no niseho, rehefa ren' i Basa izany, dia nitsahatra tsy nanamboatra an' i Rama izy sady nitoetra tao Tirza.
22. Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
22. "Le roi Asa convoqua tout Juda, sans exempter personne, et ils emportèrent les pierres et le bois que Baescha employait à la construction de Rama; et le roi Asa s`en servit pour bâtir Guéba de Benjamin et Mitspa."

23. The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
23. Le reste de toutes les actions d`Asa, tous ses exploits et tout ce qu`il a fait, et les villes qu`il a bâties, cela n`est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? Toutefois, à l`époque de sa vieillesse, il eut les pieds malades.
23. Ary ny asan' i Asa sisa sy ny heriny rehetra, ary izay rehetra nataony sy ny tanàna izay naoriny, tsy voasoratra ao amin' ny bokin' ny tantaran' ny mpanjakan' ny Joda va? Nefa kosa tamin' ny andro fahanterany dia narary tamin' ny tongony izy.
24. And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
24. Asa se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père. Et Josaphat, son fils, régna à sa place.
24. "Ary Asa lasa nodimandry any amin' ny razany, dia nalevina tao amin' ny razany tao an-Tanànan' i Davida rainy izy; ary Josafata zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy."
Nadab King of Israel
25. And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
25. Nadab, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël, la seconde année d`Asa, roi de Juda. Il régna deux ans sur Israël.
25. "Ary Nadaba, zanak' i Jeroboama nanomboka nanjaka tamin' ny Isiraely tamin' ny taona faharoa nanjakan' i Asa mpanjakan' ny Joda; ary nanjaka roa taona tamin' ny Isiraely Izy."
26. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
26. "Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l`Éternel; et il marcha dans la voie de son père, se livrant aux péchés que son père avait fait commettre à Israël."
26. Ary nanao izay ratsy teo imason' i Jehovah izy, fa nandeha tamin' ny lalan-drainy sy tamin' ny fahotany izay nampanotany ny Isiraely
27. And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
27. Baescha, fils d`Achija, de la maison d`Issacar, conspira contre lui, et Baescha le tua à Guibbethon, qui appartenait aux Philistins, pendant que Nadab et tout Israël assiégeaient Guibbethon.

28. Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

29. And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
29. Lorsqu`il fut roi, il frappa toute la maison de Jéroboam, il n`en laissa échapper personne et il détruisit tout ce qui respirait, selon la parole que l`Éternel avait dite par son serviteur Achija de Silo,
29. Ary izao no niseho, rehefa nanjaka izy, dia namely ny mpianakavin' i Jeroboama rehetra ka tsy nasiany niangana ho an' i Jeroboama na dia olona iray akory aza, fa naringany avokoa ireo araka ny tenin' i Jehovah izay nampilazainy an' i Ahia Silonita mpanompony.
30. Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
30. à cause des péchés que Jéroboam avait commis et qu`il avait fait commettre à Israël, irritant ainsi l`Éternel, le Dieu d`Israël.

32. And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

Baasha King of Israel
33. In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
33. La troisième année d`Asa, roi de Juda, Baescha, fils d`Achija, régna sur tout Israël à Thirtsa. Il régna vingt-quatre ans.
33. "Tamin' ny taona fahatelo nanjakan' i Asa, mpanjakan' ny Joda, no nanomboka nanjaka tamin' ny Isiraely rehetra tao Tirza i Basa, zanak' i Ahia; ary nanjaka efatra amby roapolo taona izy."
34. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
